Island House in South Korea

This project was designed and implemented by a Seoul studio “Iroje KHM Architects” three and a half years ago in Kaphenchzhan, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The total area of the project is 628 square meters. You have to agree, it is a pretty impressive area, especially for the thrifty South Koreans. Despite its name, in reality the house does not float on the local river. Although, if you look at the building from a distance, then it might give the impression that it is a separate island. However, this does not mean that the house did not fit the surrounding landscape. It did it excellent. Its private swimming pool, lawn and a small garden on the roof complement the feeling of autonomy. The natural light abounds the house because of massive windows, resembling big transparent stained glass windows. source: http://weezbo.com
